Macro photography is one of the most interesting subject in photography in many aspects. With a dedicated lens, we can see very details of object in real world that we often miss. I was lucky to buy a Canon 100mm macro lens as my birthday gift from my mother-in-law. She knows how much I like photo gears. 🙂
One of my favorite place near Chicago area is Chicago Botanic Garden. There are lots of beautiful flowers and nature all around year.
Here is some of my macro pictures from this place. They are mostly flowers and small insects.
Over the early summer to the beginning of fall, Botanic Garden has a special exhibit for kids and families. Butterflies. We can see a bunch of different species of butterflies inside mesh dome. They are so gorgeous. I spent hours to take pictures of them. Sometimes it lands on kids’ palm. Even one of them just landed on my macro lens and stayed for a while. So, cute.
