A few days ago, I posted Leap Motion in my blog. Interestingly there is another nice tracking device just announced, MYO. It is slightly different from Leap Motion as this one uses sensors to detect signal from muscles around arm. EMG (Electromyography) has been around for a long time and it is quite reliable technique. Only one issue is that one has to wear sensors around skin where target muscle locates. It is not that convenient method. Therefore, many experiments using this tech likely happen in research lab not in the real world application.

This new device is nicely packaged and seems very reliable while watching their promo video footage. It also use wireless communication with host device (computer?) so that we don’t need to tangle wires around. Very simple tiny form factor. Its control is very stylish just like Jedi force kind action from Star Wars.

I see there are many possible scenarios with this device however, I prefer Leap Motion for interactive media installation work because we do not need to take it on/off to interactive with the piece. More natural experience, I guess.
